Lenggrieser Hütte, Berghütte in Bayern, Deutschland

Lenggrieser Hütte is a mountain shelter located at 1338 meters on the slopes above Lenggries, offering views across the Isar valley toward the surrounding peaks. The building houses sleeping rooms and a dining area where visitors can rest and eat after their time on the trails.

The shelter was established in 1949 as climbers began returning to the Bavarian Alps after the war, becoming a resting place for those exploring these mountains. Over the decades it has served thousands of hikers moving through the region and continues its role as a waypoint on established routes.

The hut reflects local mountain culture through its role as a gathering spot where hikers and climbers meet to share experiences over home-cooked food. Its kitchen serves recipes passed down through the region, connecting visitors to the way people have lived and eaten in these valleys for generations.

The shelter remains open throughout most of the year and has beds available for overnight stays, making it a good stopping point for multi-day mountain journeys. Visitors should plan for mountain weather and bring proper gear, as conditions change quickly at this elevation.

Several different walking paths lead to the shelter, each taking a different route through the surrounding valleys and forests. This means hikers can plan circular trips, arriving by one trail and returning by another for a more varied experience.
